Myopia Control Contact Lenses For Kids and Teens with Nearsighted Prescriptions
By 2050, the worldwide prevalence of myopia, aka nearsightedness, is projected to be 54%. Myopia causes blurry distance vision. It has been found to increase the risk of cataracts, glaucoma and retinal detachment later in life.
Genetics play a large role in becoming myopic. In addition, evidence suggests that near work, such as screen time, and decreased outdoor time for kids and teens are contributing factors.

The central optics of the lens allows for clear distance vision while the peripheral optics of the lens adds focusing power to bring the peripheral light rays into focus in front of the retina. Studies show that bringing the peripheral focus in front of the retina cues the eye to slow myopic growth.
